How do I schedule my first appointment?

Call your therapist at 440-201-4841 to schedule an initial intake appointment. Future appointments are scheduled with your therapist during your counseling session.

What can I expect during the first appointment?

Your initial intake is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to counseling, your history, your goals, and whether the therapist’s approach feels like a good fit. You will also have time to ask questions about the counseling process.

How long is a counseling session?

Standard counseling sessions are 50 minutes long. The frequency of appointments is discussed with your therapist based on your needs and goals.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel an appointment. A cancellation fee applies to appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice and to missed appointments. To reschedule, contact your therapist by phone or text message.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. Mathews Family Counseling LLC accepts many major insurance plans. Coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary, so please call the office to verify your specific plan and benefits before your first appointment.

What is the cost if I do not use insurance?

The self-pay rate is $125 per 50-minute session. Contact the office if you have questions about payment or insurance coverage.

Do you offer telehealth counseling?

Yes. Secure online counseling is available to clients located in Ohio. You will need a reliable internet connection and a private place where you feel comfortable speaking.

Is counseling confidential?

Your privacy is an important part of counseling. Information is generally kept confidential, with certain exceptions required or permitted by law, such as concerns involving immediate safety or abuse. Your therapist will explain confidentiality and its limits during the intake process.
